At the age of six I received a Diana camera and
two rolls of black and white 120 film as a
Christmas present. At the time it was just a
present, albeit one that I was excited to get, but
in reflection that single gift determined my
perspective on the world and inadvertently,
decided my entire career path.
With those first images I created as a young boy
I began to see the world, from the distorted
images of blades of grass in the field below our
house to the neighbors cat. The all plastic
camera distorted images and created a surreal
effect which I found enchanting.

I was hooked on the visual.

Although I studied English, Writing and
Architecture in college, my career started in the
film business where I was an Art Director,
creating sets and setting the visual tone for
movies and television. All during this early stage
of my career I continued to enjoy photography,
often still using that first Diana camera to express
myself.

While an Art Director I started designing
residential architecture, and built a business
which endures to this day with dozens of homes
that are a testament to my unique vision.
My interest in painting is attributed to many of
the extremely talented artists in Sonoma County
where I was able see and purchase their art
over the years on Art Trails and Art At The
Source.

Prior to seeing other artists work, painting was
never something that I thought about but one
artist in particular convinced me to give it a try
so I took a class, picked up a brush and I was
hooked…again.
Painting for me is my escape, my respite from
the stress the world can be. I create images
that are bold and graphic and are in many ways
similar to my architecture.

There is so much beauty all around us, we just
need to look.
